SOLUTION INSIDE: Text message feature with nav unit.
I have just bought a 2016 CX-5 GT. I was told about the text message feature. The text message selection is greyed out and I cannot select it. I have tried with 2 iPhones, one a 6 and one a 6 plus. Both running iOS 8.3.
Has anyone else gotten the text message feature to work on any phones?

UPDATE:
Found out how to get it to show text messages and read them. I believe with the newer iOS it will not allow you to reply.
What you have to do is on your phone go to settings, then Bluetooth then click the little i next to your Mazda and then allow notifications. Then you have to reset the connection by disconnecting and reconnecting.
Bam. Then it works! Hope this works for you all with iOS!
