Default Temperature Display Not Working Properly

On our daughters 2014 CX-5 Touring AWD the dash display of outside temperature is not displaying correctly. It showed a minus temperature and now shows 3 lines. Is there a way to reset this or how do I service it?

Has anyone been doing any work on it lately? Dash panels removed? Front bumper removed? Any fender benders?

Not that we know of. She just got the car (used) and the previous owner might have done work, etc.. I figured out where the ambient sensor is and she is taking it into a shop today to see if the connector / wiring it loose.

Thank you for your response!

My daughter got the car to the shop for a wheel alignment and it turns out the sensor was totally missing. Must have been knocked off in the past. They put a new one on and it works great!

Thanks for the help!
