Taillights blinking when headlights turned on
No idea whats going on but the the rear taillights blink every 1-2 seconds if the headlights are turned on.
The other odd issue is that if headlights are on and you try to hold rpm’s at 2000 (in park) it will rev to 2000 but then drop to idle. If you let off the gas and press it again it will again rev up and immediate back to idle without letting off the gas.
we’ve also noticed the car had started to shift different. (Seems to not shift as crisp and slight hang in gears at higher rpm… it’s not in. Sport mode)
checked the battery and alternator with my scan tool and everything reads normal. Also disconnected the battery over night as a Hail Mary and that didn’t help. Battery is less than a year old.
2019 cx5 ~30k miles anyone have any ideas or diagnostic suggestions?

Never had the issue but after a quick internet check I found this.
- Check the Brake System Warning Light: First, verify if the brake system warning light is illuminated on your dashboard. If it remains on even after releasing the parking brake, there might be an issue with the brake fluid level or the brake system itself.
- Inspect the Electric Parking Brake (EPB): If the brake system warning light is flashing, it indicates a malfunction in the Electric Parking Brake (EPB). Try operating the EPB switch to see if the light stops flashing.
- Auto Wipers and Lights: Some users have reported similar issues related to auto wipers and lights. Try turning off auto wipers.
- Battery Health: You should get your battery load tested to verify it is in proper working order.
OK, Well I solved it. I noticed the drivers side tail light was not as bright. Turns out there are 2 filaments in that bulb and one was out. Replaced the bulb and everything is fixed. No more blinking once a second. It also stopped the RPM from dropping when revving the engine with the lights on. Go figure, how does a light bulb affect that???
