Suspension conundrum
I'm not a mechanic but I suffered something similar with a Subaru Forester. So it sounds like the mechanic heard the noise with you in the car and said it was normal? If you were not in the car then you need to yes record it and try to find an area near the dealership where you can recreate the noise and show them with you in the car. A rough surface or other. Most likely it's not normal but finding the source can be next to impossible. I got the one "It's in the frame" and maybe that was true. My forester was still new so I settled under the lemon law and kept the car and got some money and a large service. The noise eventually went away but drove me crazy for a year of life. Good Luck!
Its peculiar that a tech at Mazda would just start replacing things in the quest to isolate a suspension noise -- and did NOT test drive it to diag the issue ......until after ALL that work was done ? Did Mazda give you an R/O as in the dealerships the warranty will show up upon entry into service database-when a repair order is generated / or estimate - then they diag it , and determine coverage and issue cost -- --- This sounds peculiar - Well I suppose you have many good new suspension parts--now you can continue the quest to find the issue _
You must re-qualify as a real Automotive Technician or mechanic min every 3-4 years. If not then the technology is now past your ability to effectively be a Automotive Technician.
whomever the people are that are working on your Mazda they either don’t have the experience or updated training and are not a Automotive Technician or Mazda Factory Certified Mechanic plain and simple.
I telling you this to help you understand either be patient with your dealership service department or go to a different service department. Escalation direct with Mazda will either have Mazda dealership give you a loner and they keep your Mazda for several days to find the problem, or the refer you to another Mazda dealership, or they find a person like myself that is qualified to find your problem. There are some dealerships that use independent service shops that have individuals with specific qualifications and current certifications to perform warranty services .
