Default Speedometer

2024 CX5 Preferred, My preferred seat and steering positions block a good portion of the speedometer, plus it is somewhat on the small size. Does anyone know if it can be programmed to show speed in a digital reading somewhere more easily seen??

If I'm not mistaken, the trim you have on your CX-5 has the mechanical/physical guages. You could try lowering the steering wheel and see if that doesn't block everything in your view.

Thanks for response, Yes my CX5 has mechanical speedometer. I am 69 inch's tall and my preferred driving position is to have seat as high as possible, the steering wheel at bottom position and setting fairly close to wheel and for me the top of the wheel blocks the top of the speedometer. I cannot take a glance at it to see speed, I have to move my head up or down to see it. On my 2022 Nissan Frontier I have the same problem with mechanical but I can program it to have a digital readout lower on dash where I can see with a glance. Just wondering if any one has found a way to provide a digital on Mazda that may be in a better location. Thanks again

Well not sure how to advise but I can state your preference for seat and steering wheel position is unsafe. You may want to talk to an auto upholstery shop and see if they can fabricate a seat cushion firm enough to be safe and raise you slightly while still being able to reach the brake a throtle peddles. Then you can properly and safely position the steering wheel . And in the end see the MPH gauge.

It's nice because it doesn't need to be connected to the OBDII port and runs off of a simple USB cord. I'd definitely verify the reading is accurate with a GPS speedo or something.

Hello Thank you for finding the aftermarket digital speedometer, I will purchase one and see if I can find a good location to install. I have always avoided adding any type devices to the top dash of my vehicles and I do not like cords in the way, I put this thread out with the hope that a digital could be programmed in the dash.
As to my poor seating position I would state that it is comfortable for me. I am 80 years old and I have crisscrossed North America more times than I can count , I have driven many many miles in Europe on both sides of the road, by the number of cars and trucks I have owned I calculate that I have driven close to 3 million miles. And guess what, I have never had even a fender bender. So I think my seat position is very good.
Thanks for the input

There is a reason why commercial pilots have a mandatory retirement from flying.
