Red face Speed Limit Chime & Front Camera Imaging

I owned a 2022 CX-5 Signature Turbo and loved the car so much and want to upgrade. The cost of the new version however, is prohibitive and therefore I have to be ultra comfortable to accept a lower trim (probably the non-turbo.) I got a loaner/tester to get accustomed to the feel. So far, there is only one pet-peeve that I am having and this is the Speed limit chime.

I configured the 2022 model to chime when I am 10mph above the speed limit and have become so dependent on the feature. Despite having the Traffic Sign Recognition and Front Sensing Camera, this 2025 model however, does not show the option in the menu to activate the signs nor the chime. Neither am I able to see the speed limit in the HUD. It does have the extension of the map inserted from the Car Play Map. What seems to be the problem? This is a much loved option which is also deal breaker.

Does anyone know how to activate the speed limit visual as well as the chime?

Thanks in advance for the feedback...

Is there a specific reason you are considering getting a 2025 model? It sounds like you really enjoy the 2022 model and should just keep it, unless I'm misunderstanding the situation. They haven't really made any signifigant changes from the 2022-2025 models.

From what I can gather for information in the 2025 year only the Carbon Turbo trim package has the speed chime feature.
As Alex posted if you really like your 2022, is there a specific reason why you don't just keep it instead of buying new?

He said "owned" a 22, so I guess he either sold it or wrecked it? I also wonder how much you have shopped as there are some great deals on the CX-5 with the all new 26 coming out soon. I have a friend who got 10% off on a 25 CX-50 Meridian a couple of weeks ago so I would think a CX-5 Signature would also be heavily discounted at this time of year. You are in a prime spot to get a great deal.

There should be a lot of deals in 2026, especially once the new model comes out. It'll be a good time to get a 2025 model for sure. We just need clarification on the currenty story with this car.

I have to say it... his quote "I configured the 2022 model to chime when I am 10mph above the speed limit".... auh so we have to remind us for speeding (breaking the law under state VC) instead of actionably looking at your speedometer? Wouldn't you at least want it set going over the posted speed limit? But still not looking occasionally at your instruments like the speedometer while driving?.

This is only meant as more or a less poking fun at the information and nothing more....

Lol... The numbers are just for example. In my home area, I set it to 5 mph above. I usually (like most most most times) check the Speedometer, but... there is the odd time, (like forgetting my wife's birthday and jetting off to the store) or on the highway, when I 'stay' with the pack... but once doing so gets above 10, I stand down. If I am tryna catch up with another pack, I refuse to go up to more than 10 above the posted limit. For example the I-95 from the Carolinas to New Jersey has sections that are 70 mph. Without the alert, I sometimes inadvertently drift above 80 so I don't want to be pleading with a cop because officers may or may not use their discretion and give warning for minor infraction like 2 mph over. Of course this excludes school or construction zone.

I am not for one moment inferring that I have a cavalier attitude towards the law.

No wreck nor anything like that. The car is nice but would depreciate even further (in 2026), widening the gap between the actual value and the loan balance. As you stated, there are some heavy discounts being branded around - even equivalent to a re-financing move.

@Lobstah "is there a specific reason why you don't just keep it instead of buying new?"
A few reasons...
1. Newer technology - discounted price on newer models.
2. Depreciation - increases the gap between value and loan balance
3. old payment amount vs new payment amount almost identical ($47)
4. Annoying scratches and dings.
5. more reasons too but ... ok... wireless CarPlay is one of them ...
