Default Smart brake support sticking, not releasing.

Has anyone had any problems with the automatic emergency brake sticking or not releasing after engaging? I was about to rear end a stopped vehicle in front of me so I slammed on my brakes and came to a stop. The vehicle in front of me then started to roll forward but I could see a car in my mirror about to hit me because of my sudden stop. I let go of the brake pedal so I could jump forward to prevent the car behind me from hitting me, but when I released the brake pedal, my brakes stayed locked for about a full one or two seconds. I pressed on the gas to get out of the way but my car would not move. This was dangerous as the car behind me came inches of hitting me. Has anyone experienced this ? Thanks.

You are saying you have the "auto hold" feature engaged? If so then yes it would be normal. At least in mine, the brakes don't stay on without it turned on. I never thought of the scenario you described, but you just convinced me NOT to use that feature.
