Thank you, chickdr19. What I was referring to is how I used synthetic oil as a risk mitigation to future turbocharger issues as I’ve read Turbos can be sensitive to oil issues, and of course for overall engine longevity. Yeah, it doesn’t matter for the block/head given if it is defective it will happen no matter what! I’m going to do some research on Mazda turbocharger longevitiy. If I find a pattern of replacement required under 150K miles, I will go ahead and put the money out for a new one given the labor will be free (although I’ll also try to find the R&R labor cost and weigh that into the decision). I’ll update my post on any relevant findings.

Unfortunately there is a lot of poor information about Turbo servicing.

If you keep you poil changes at or below 7k miles it does not matter if you use none synthetic, semi synthetic or fully synthetic oils. Regarding a Dailey driver specifically!!!!
If the wheel of the Turbo has no play and there is no burnt or carboned oil feed line then they are fine. We service at least 30% of the vehicles now having a Turbocharger and in the last 2 years have only replace 12 Turbochargers on various high mileage platforms.
I belong to most all Mazda forums as far as I am aware I am the only member that actually has a Turbocharging business.

Thank you, Callisto. I very much appreciate your advice. So, upon turbo removal if they would inspect for bearing play, burnt or carboned oil feed line and find nothing of concern, then re-use the existing turbo. I do religiously change the oil every 5000 miles. Again, thanks for the advice!

It would however be prudent to ask them to look at all associated parts for the engine replacement as to their conditions and any other advice for parts service or replacement? You can always decide later.
Or PM me with the list and I can give you my thoughts.

Take it to a mazda dealership if you ever have an issue. They issused a csp-11 extended warranty that you should have known about since they "sent it to all mazda owners that would be affected." i never did. I missed the deadline for 3rd party auto repair by 2-3 weeks that i also didn't know about. Dealership will cover it 100% and up to 10 years and i think about 100,000 miles or so. They refuse to reimburse me and won't even cover parts that were oem from mazda. I don't want anyone else to get as royally screwed as i did. Good luck!

Your response clearly shows that you are really new no matter what you say to auto forums. NO ONE like a member that joins and starts off with a negative response towards the platform.
That member has also posted the same thing on another forum, and they banned him . What does that tell you SIR?
Dont be surprised if that happens here and also the deletion of my response last yours and this one!
My suggestion is STOP responding about this , but hey feel free be the Super Hero and protector of butthead new members! LOL

I should also add that had you stopped and actually read that response it is full of bad information, unsupported information and just plain information that is not fact based? LOL
