I just changed my '18 CX-5 oil at my local Walmart, and I'm trying to understand of why the check engine feature was reseted to 4 months and just 3,366 miles. It was expensive Mobil 1 synthetic oil that I would expect to last at least 5000 miles until my next change of oil.
What have you experienced?
I just check my last 4 oil changes:
5/19 at 37,051 miles (1,645 miles from last one)
1/23 at 35,434 miles (3,152 miles from last one)
10/22 at 32,282 miles (1,508 miles from last change).
07/22 at 30,774
Owners manual mentions oil change should be every 7,500 miles
Is this normal or something is wrong with my Maintenance monitor ?
I would say that your maintenance minder needs to be reset-you designate when based on time rather than miles- in the Apps.
No need to be changing oil as frequently as you do unless the car is constantly in heavy traffic, awful environmental factors, etc. Wasting money with no particular benefit.
Due to Covid limited travel, our 2019 is only now at 35,000 miles after 3 1/2 years. Schedule calls for 36 months or for 30 or 35K miles. Mostly oil changes, tire rotations and inspecting components.
FYI dealer charges a lot of $ for this and ridiculous prices for the 2 air filters.
