I just purchased a used 2014 CX-5 Sport for my child and I understand the 2014 models didn't make the cutoff for the OEM upgrade for Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.

I'm looking for recommendations on a Apple CarPlay enabled aftermarket stereo for my 2014 CX-5 Sport. And I want them to still be able to use the steering wheel controls and preferably upgrade the USB ports in the console to connect to the new head unit and allow for faster charging and simultaneous playing from their iPhone.

Any help is appreciated. Love the car. Haven't owned a Mazda since high school but I'm impressed already with it.

I ended up getting this Sony:

and the steering controls and usb port in the attached photo from Crutchfield. We installed the usb port in the console between the seats.





We even get a license plate mounted back up camera and everything works great.
