Unhappy Rear wiper arm - broken

I was attempting to put on a new rear wiper blade. When pushing down on the blade to snap it into place, two plastic pieces broke off the arm. Looks like they're from right next to where the blade hooks into the arm.

Anyone know the importance of these two plastic pieces? I put the cap back on the arm and it seems sturdy. Just wondering if I need to buy a new arm; like, will the blade fall off while the wiper is operating.

Thanks!

Well you don't specify the year of your CX-5, but assuming the gen two is pretty much the same as my gen one, there is a black plastic clip/cover at the base of the arm under which resides the bolt that secures the arm to the shaft. Removing this cover also allows you to swing the arm up to change the blade. Sounds like you broke the "ears" off the cover?? As long as the bolt is tight, the arm will not come off in use.

Thank you Paris1. It's a 2016.5 GT. I mentioned that the issue is where the blade hooks into the arm. Meaning, how the blade is attached to the arm. Two small plastic pieces in there right next to that hook.

OK, now I see what you're talking about. One of those tabs, the one nearest the shaft end, appears to be there to keep the blade from swinging freely out when the blade is lifted off the glass. As far as I can tell, when the blade is in its normal position, the absence of one or both of these tabs is irrelevant.
