I understand how online forums work. My second reply in this thread says:
does not appear so ? But that's my opinion
Your experience is new and unique so to say...... so I think I can state no one has ever tried to go back in time on a spark plug service for Reimbursement of funds on a single spark plug replacement service? .
There are numerous threads on this and various other forums having a spark plug found being broken but not like your experience!!!
Trying to get the information from you or unconfirmed who actually broke it, regarding the spark plug service and then wanting to go back in time several months after the fact and get a warranty credit for you is something all new on most likely the majority of vehicle related forums.
Continuing to respond only provide more interest in how some threads can be started and more or less more entertaining than helpful to others? The sad thing is when some member anywhere types in in many arrangements of wording to search out broken spark plug, they are sadly going to find this thread and likely chuckle over it?
Post the service invoice lets see what it states! Why is this so difficult? You would think you would want to have some supportive documents on what you said. The story is totally one sided at this point!

Unless you can prove the plug was defective from the factory, you're probably out of luck. Sounds like you bought the car used, so everything that happened to it prior to your ownership is not fully known. If you can find previous owner's service records showing that a Mazda dealer did some kind of work that involved spark plugs, you may have a shot.

FYI to all
When you take your Mazda to service for any work your VIN is used to create the work order. So any service done by a Mazda dealership at least in the USA will be part of your VIN service history. This means if you live in Washington and travel to Florida as an example and go to a Mazda dealership for any service, they will be able to see your complete Mazda service History.
You will not have any service done on that history from independent service shops only from Mazda service shops.
In the case of this OP it really supports the idea or really based on my experience that it rules out a factory manufacturing defect and more a spark plug being installed or likely removed incorrectly.
I am waiting to read the response again that the new spark plug claimed to solve the issue so I can post a why that is more unlikely it was another act of that service that cured the DTC and misfiring cylinder and not a broken spark plugs before it was removed.
On a side note, many dealerships have an area in sale and service that is generated to have information pertaining to some owners. like they are a great customer or a PIA. Generally, only the dealership has access to those areas, but they do exist. Just saying for all you going to any dealership be patient understanding and polite as I hope they are to you or it may come back to haunt you some day when you need a favor service or a better price on parts, service or that new vehicle you are thinking about purchasing?

I can confirm this is true. Mazda HQ was able to pull everything service related at all the dealers we took my girlfriend's car to. They told us this when had our after warranty work order put through for a nearly blown rear differential (Callisto knows the story lol).
[QUOTE=Callisto;241282]First your should state MAZDA corp and not a dealership but that's your thoughhts.....LOL
Do I really need to instruct you in proper English prose, etiquette, sentence structure and comprehensive reading...
That is why I said Contact Mazda or the Mazda dealerdirectly to get the answer you require.
Which is clearly two separate nouns.
Mazda (as in Mazda Corporation) and Mazda Dealer that require the verb (contact) to be acting upon.
I already have a person under contract to read any ads I will be printing or posting , operation instruction for part use and installation I offer, authored articles in magazines etc. even another ASE(like me only having better writing skills) to double check my technical word use and all these are set up to be corrected through my marketer. On a casual vehcle forum with worldwide membership and multiple languages used and translated .................."Iz dunt kare auh rats **** abbott hoz i rite!"
I have to think about who will be reading what I post on a forum so for the purpose of DIY and just owners of a Mazda, it is better that they have two places to contact instead of just a dealership. Mazda Corp in the end is what a dealership will run to if they don't have an answer or don't want to be the bad guy with a less then stellular denial having to do with information on a claim.
I have owned six Mazdas and changed 100's of sparkplugs in my lifetime, including at least a dozen sets on Mazdas. The only cracked insulators I have ever experienced were due to overtightening. That one instance of cracked insulators was a painful reminder that experience alone is not good enough to assess torque values. I switched to using a torque wrench to do final tightening on sparkplugs and have not cracked an insulator since.
Sorry to hear it cost you $300 to replace sparkplugs at the dealer. That's a $50 do it yourself job that takes 20 minutes on a non-turbo Mazda and 45 minutes on a turbo Mazda. The CX-5 is a wonderfully easy car to work on and you can save a lot of money by learning to do simple things like changing the sparkplugs yourself. YouTube has excellent easy to follow videos.

.
Well stated....
Just add not having the spark plug socket directly and properly on the sparkplug when installing it.
