Looking for a Mazda mechanic past or present who maybe able to offer a view…

I purchased a 2016 CX-5 which after a few thousand miles developed an oil pressure problem. The dealer diagnosed a worn oil pump chain which was repaired however the oil pressure warning light has reappeared.

Could it be possible that this fault was present at time of purchase which just took time to manifest in vehicle warnings?

Unfortunately you are missing a lot of information both what exactly was done to your Mazda and what the service department did to find the issue.
The first thing is you need to give more of your vehicle information .

As for your thought of this "manifesting" over time NOPE! No record from Mazda or a few independent service shops to support that theory.
Besides I will wait to see what you respond with because there is at least one part that should have been considered if not replaced?
