Permanently deactivating 2023 radar cruise control
And Institor, if I didn't know better I'd think you were joking. You mean a car with seat memory can actually memorize the position of the seat? What a revelation, thank you so much! I'll have to let the Mazda service techs in on that. Don't worry, I'll give you the credit for discovering this feature. Unfortunately that's not the problem. Would've been nice though.
If, in your case, the seat keep moving up and up and up without any user input - than, indeed, it is very strange.
Regarding your first question, if you insist, there is topic called "Change configuration (explore different functions ASbuilt)" on mazda3revolution forum, it's 350 pages long, and contains information (for example) on how to retrofit MRCC (to cars without it from factory), what bits of configuration needs to be changed etc. IF you really need that strange downgrade, you can experiment with this information. I really don't recommend it.
Now THAT was truly helpful. The seat had been moving to a position that was neither pos 1 or pos 2 but into a different position. It was a fob problem that it was being serviced for to begin with, and they fixed that issue (even though the invoice stated that they couldn't reproduce the problem). He said that they reset the fob and bookmarked the page in my manual for instructions on this, so I trusted them and hadn't tried that myself. But that was the problem and now it's resolved. Thank you very much!
Something NEW members as well visitors should really read. This applies to any posted response on any vehicle forum
**Honestly if you do not have the training and gain experience with supportive assistants and have the specialized equipment or tools you should not be tampering with some systems or even a service on newer engineered vehicles especially from 2019 to present.
But on the flip side ignorance disregarding this **^^^ and this (below) brings in more customers to have their vehicles serviced in my shop.

Of course. I'm not new to this and this Mazda is one of 5 of my cars. Have owned close to 30 cars personally, and work on them. And been on all kinds of forums for decades. I know the drill. Thanks for another warning.
The problem is on forum to many DIY and old school members that often claim there time working on vehicles is not the same as a couple of us that actually do this for a living with certification not easy to get and costly to maintain every 3 years.
Some of my responses is more generalized and not necessary directed at a specific member unless I "quote" them directly. This way at least one forum in the hundreds gets empirical information and data and proper service information. Also I have an attorney/friend that we drink coffee Mo-Thursday in the morning and we swap information, me on question he has with some 16 cars he owns and me with vehcle related servicing done by DIY in various states in the USA.
As for how many vehicles one has owned in their life thus far, never could understand what relevance that has except to state exactly that how many vehicles they have owned in their life so far. If I posed that number most would say BS, but then I have pictures places and events for about 50% of the close to 200+. Starting with 4 before I even had a legal drivers license. But I should qualify my collection started in the 1970's.

If you are interested in members that posted, here is a good thread for you?

Just trying to convey my experience with cars. Like you, I also drove and worked on cars before having a drivers' license, also in the 70's. Really enjoyed working on those. First engine I worked on was my dad's 66 Ford Country Squire with a 390. Challenged myself to see how much I could tear down that motor and put it back again without my dad ever knowing about it! I'll never forget the first valve train I exposed - oooh. Pretty fun for this 13 year old. That would become my fist car. When I think of all the old cars I owned and what those same vehicles are worth today - unbeknownst to me I was a rich kid!
But these tech laden cars today are a whole different game. Cars have become a an entirely different kind of machine. When I was first starting out 4 of my cars were bought for around $100 each, and any poor kid could work on them. What will poor people be able to afford today or in the future? While a used car may seem very cheap considering a low purchase price, much of the servicing of defective issues in these cars will be unaffordable. And they likely won't be able to repair these problems themselves. I digress. A rant for another time.

OK so this is really funny, My second car ever owned was a 1965 Olds F85 with w 330 cu.in I did sort of the same thing as you regarding the engine. By a weird circumstance and miss judging the spectator lane to go watch a Drag Race Fremont (gone now) Drag Strip I was in the attending lane. So embarrassed I just stayed in the lane. I ran my Wagon and went through the traps @ 12.57 seconds. In the mid seventies for a high school kid tuning those times was something! I continued after that point Drage racing in many classes until I finally retired from NHRA in 1995. My last Car was a 1968 Camaro S/G running 9.90 ETs @190+mph.
As for you second part about services. DEAD ON!!!
Used vehcle price are ridiculous and most have over 100K miles. The ones that have 150 to 200k miles are going for 40% more in the last 2-4 years then historically. These vehicles ALL have high millage issue and customers can afford the independent service shop hourly rates in some area's 175-225 per hour. I feel really bad some of my customers when they plead with me about it is there only transportation for their family and don't have the money for the service or repair. What can I do nothing really. It's not my shop and although I do thousands of dollars each month for free it still hits me that people cant afford the service. Then you compound it with shops that charge the area basic rates and hire only general mechanic that ever hit and miss on the guessing diagnostics or start changing parts to guess at the solution and tell the customers that all those parts needed to be changed. If any of my Techs change a part without consulting with me first and most times I double check their diagnosis the part and installation is FREE.
Any MONKEYT can plug a Diagnostic Scanner in the diagnostic connector and retrieve codes, but it does in fact take special training to know all the places to look and then form a diagnostic tree of elimination to resolve an issue. Very shops even dealerships do this. They just know how to. So they waste labor time and charge the customer. Gives all of us Mechanics and Automotive technician's even Automotive or mechanical engineers (
) a bad name in the industry.
I see. So when I push the MODE button to deactivate the MRCC this is tampering? Or unlawfully disabling of a safety feature? No, it's actually a feature that's explained in the manual. I just want to know if there's a way to turn it off once instead of having to do it every time the car is started. And in a way that Mazda has designed into the car to be set by an owner or a tech. I'm not interested in any hacks.
Regarding not ordering a feature to begin with - really? Gee, why didn't I think of that! Don't you know that it doesn't work that way? Eg, have you tried buying a car with navigation that didn't also come air conditioning? Just so you know when you go to buy your first car, you cannot pick and choose each option you want.

Disabling a mode via your vehicle control's function features is obviously not tampering, doing so beyond the functions of the system most certainly is.
You must reset it every time just like the passenger airbag and other safety items if you turn them off.
It is designed this way to ensure the next operator of the vehicle has the full safety features enabled.
I can tell you at 71 years old I purchased many vehicles of all types and getting what you want does work that way.
You can purchase off the lot and get what they have, or you can order anything you want with the features you do or don't want provided you wait for it to be built.
I have on several occasions special ordered many items from appliances, boats, motorcycles, 4-wheel vehicles and everything in-between to get exactly what I wanted.
