Passenger footwell leak.
Well it rained yesterday and no leaks, and it did last night and there was water there this morning! Blast . so today we tried the hot water again and this time we poured it into both sides to see our previous efforts had just removed part of the debris. Now we notice that there are really big holes around the wipers where it looks as though all kinds of debris could get in. Do these holes have some kind of grills on them, we couldn't quite see. I am thinking now that some other debris could get in there and just not my pollen theory/ Why doesn't everyone's plug up?
We thought we had it fixed as it has really poured down here yesterday and nothing came in. We did a little drive this morning and after we had parked for a while there was water! WE have no sunroof, but we would have had the defrost on. We're thinking now that it could be a drip from the ac? Nothing is obvious when I take the glove box out. I cannot see a drain hose for the ac , where else can I look, before I take it to the dealer and pay $$$$$ because they said there was debris?
You need to remove the center console side panel from the passenger side to get access to the condensate drain hose.
Not sure if you want to do that with a vehicle that is under warranty. If the hose is leaking warranty should cover it.

Removing the panel it and visually looking at the drain hose to see if it is leaking may be a good idea to either include it as a problem or rule it out.
I don't think it is leaking there as it is dripping on to the upper carpet near the engine bulkhead. It is probably blocked somewhere and I was hoping if I could find the outlet I could clear it by putting a shop vac on it. I have looked at many YouTube videos and CX70 and 90 seem to plug up quite often, and they drain under the car under a bendable heat shield, An older CX5 had the drain inside the engine compartment. I feel the same as you , I dont want to be too intrusive as it is under warranty and it could be a fault. It is frustrating as we had our Mazda 6 for 18 years parked in the same spot and never leaked! This one leaks after 18 months!
Well that's a bummer! I got under there but found the underside, except the middle is covered with two gigantic fibre covers that I could probably get off , but never get back on, unless I were thirty years younger! So I guess $$$$$ at the dealer!
This is getting to be like an Icelandic saga! Before I pay out the big bucks, I asked Wally, the AI. He found a video on reddit from three years ago that showed the drain under the heat shield in the middle of the car, and on the side of the trans tunnel from inside the car. It seems that it will be behind the forward side panel as the rear one is really long. It looks though that the forward panel sits a little below the rear one so it may be difficult to pry out without damaging it !
You are under warranty and if you can show the wet area of your vehicle, I'm not sure why they should charge you to fix it.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they won't charge you, but if it's a defect in materials/design you should not be charged.
It took me a long time to find two good dealers and a qualified independent mechanic/technician.
Neither charges me for looking for an issue unless they can find it and can repair it.
I never paid anything for two vehicles that required repairs under warranty even when one of them was an issue I inadvertently caused.
Any good business that makes thousands of dollars from loyal customer purchases will do this.
The ones who don't I no longer do business with.
I'm lucky my longtime motorcycle shop I used for 30 years when I was riding, is also a Mazda dealer.
My local "wrench" service shop is co-owned with his brother whom I hired out HS and worked for me for 15 years.
No, I don't get reduced rates nor do I expect to, I get great knowledge, workmanship and honesty. And piece of mind that I'll gladly pay for.
