Thanks in advance,
Im having a recurring issue with my 2013 Mazda CX-5 Touring and could use some help.
Problem:
Whenever I drive at 70 mph or above, the check engine light comes on. If I stop the car and later drive under 70 mph a few times, the light disappears. This is happening every day.Code & Attempted Fixes:
- The code Im getting is P0500 Vehicle Speed Sensor malfunction.
- Ive already checked and found out that this model doesnt have a traditional transmission-mounted VSS. Instead, it uses the four ABS wheel speed sensors to calculate vehicle speed.
- I personally replaced all four ABS sensors with OEM parts, but the problem still remains.
Thanks in advance,
The DTC is a help to look at several possible causes. Replacing random parts often regarding DIY does not cure the problem and can cause additional problems form the original unresolved one. if you look there is some diagnostic work required to find your issue.
Forum like these can have guessing and the same list of possible faults creating the DTC and issue. My suggestion is you go read all the steps and procedure to test and find your problem.
If you strike out at random guessing, then find a shop that employees a Certified Diagnostic Technician. You may have to pay an hour labor fee, but you will know exactly what the fault is and then decide if you want to do the service to correct it.

Your response indicate exactly my point!
Sorry If one of my techs brought me a list of parts to replace based on your DTC info, I would tell him/her go back and re-evaluate your findings again and test the parts you claim are the cause of the DTC.

LOL I think after 40 + years as an ASE I know what to do so not sure why you are quoting me as if answering a question I have? However, it is good added information for the OP as long as they have experience working on ABS systems and the proper equipment otherwise it is formula for less than good results.
