Notchygear change
Hi folks just bought a new cx5 21 reg with 12k took for a test ride and found the gears a bit
notchy/crunchy 1-3 is this normal? Salesperson said not used to it yet and shud give it time
just wondered is this a characteristic trait or shud I get it looked at?

His post does not make sence If you understand how the automatic transmission works and the components for shifting. People always assume that the gears in an automatic are like that of a manual transmission.
Picasso you need to paint a clearer picture about what you are feeling, hearing and what the engine speed (RPM) is when it happens?
Manually shift each gear and that include reverse for this test. Describe each gear in manual shifting operation. Then in while in drive position accelerate to 60 MPH and watch the tach to see when each gear changes and describe in better wording what each gear is feeling and or if there are any noises other than the acceleration of the engine.
Please don't use terms like describing eating a food product "crunchy" or what something looks like! "notchy"!
