Smile New CX5 Premium Plus

Just brought her home today. Soul Red. (Sold my 2017 Grand Touring- a tree limb fell on it...)
I find the manual daunting, though a lot is the same as my old car. Any ideas for a simplified explanation of all the functions and gadgets?

Thanks!

2022 Soul Red Premium Plus owner here! I typically skim the manual cover to cover, then I may go back after I've driven a bit and have specific questions.

Best to read the entire thing, it really won't take that long.
Then go back and refer to it for any questions that arise.

OK, I'll try.... I get easily confused but maybe re-reading will help.

Default I have a new 'Hot Wheels Red' CX-5 as well...

On the Mazda USA website there are online and downloadable manuals, and I use the online manual mostly.
The problem with the downloadable and hard copy is that the info is sorta scattered and there are too many references to features that are not on your car (I have spent nearly as much time reading about things I do not have as those that I do). It just takes time to work your way through all of the features. My salesman tried to show me a bunch of stuff, but it was a data overload for me.

Between a 17 and 25 there are really very minor differences. You may notice the new car is smoother and more refined, but then again, a 17 was an 8yr old car and of course will have degraded over time. The infotainment system is one of the biggest differences (you had a 7" screen and now have a 10.25" screen). The seats were also revised (but look exactly the same) - do you think they are more comfortable? You went from the first year of the 2nd gen to the final year with all the minor improvements. Supposedly the engine may have improvements too, as it certainly appears different on top for the late 25 models.

Thanks for your comments. I haven't driven my '25 much yet, so can't comment on the seats. Plus my 2017 seats were probably worn in a bit when I sold it.
I love that is nearly the same car, because I'm getting on in age, and don't like a lot of change. ,BUT! the back-up/front view is vastly improved. Sound system id beautiful. The car is registering 30MPG at the moment- not bad! I wanted a hybrid, but the CX30 was too big for my taste, and I didn't like the huge sunroof, among other things. Also no heads up on that car, I think? Or maybe no heated steering wheel. I'm obviously very spoiled! I love in my CX5 with all the extras.

It's funny you say that a the cx5 is actually bigger inside ft3 than the cx50(I think you meant 50 vs 30).

Congrats ! I found the 25 to the the overall #1 CX5 to date - Since the manual covers all trim levels and both engines - I would just make sure you have the fundamentals down ( I have a 25 ) and keep the manual handy for things that come up - I use it mainly for reference on capacities , and service intervals/ torque specs etc - I found marking the service schedule for your vehicle is handy- use a post it or similar - since there are multiple pages depending on the climate severity and location for the CX5 you have - It can be confusing as it has the 2.5T and Non-2.5T listed as the different engines -- and the corresponding filters , oil etc - Drive it - the questions will come up- One thing I read in the manual that was interesting - for the first 600 miles -Upon cold start up-after auto-choke drops rpms to 800-900 start driving immediatly until warmed up -- then no constant speeds or cruise control - should be under break in procedures -
