Default 2016 Map?

I'm going to check today and update if it is. I'm concerned about updating if it is more of the same confusion.

I have never had any major problems with mine but no system is perfect.

I updated the maps for the 3 years it was available, but they never fixed the biggest error I ran into. My father's retirement community has a loop road that has been one way for at least the past 5 years. The 2015 Mazda system wants me to go the wrong way. The system in my 2019 Mazda3 directed me to enter through their service entrance and then go the wrong way. Probably not the best place to misdirect people.

I bought a Garmin a few years back and it tried to route me through a mile long circle to get on the highway. I was about 10 feet from the on ramp in front of me at the time.

I suspect the phone based systems may be more accurate and the in-car systems are more convenient.

Thanks, glad to know someone else had problems, tho relatively minor. My kids use their cell phones and those GPS systems seem far superior.

I agree 100% The phone systems are far superior. Waze tells you when there is a piece of trash on the road ahead, where the police are, and so on.

That said, I made sure the car my kids drive has the built in Mazda Navigation system. I told them I don't want them using their cell phones while driving.

Didn't know about Waze, thanks. I've been looking at cell phone holder's for my Sons 2010 Subaru. Checking out types and reviews.

From what I have heard, Waze is the best out there. Carefully go through the set-up options to make it work for you. There is a heavy social media component that can turn driving into an interactive game with drivers around you. I set it up for my Wife's new Forester. I hated it the first day and like it after I went through the options. (You get to the options by selecting search and the washer/bolt symbol.)

Smile Waze Reviews

Went to the App Store and looked at the latest reviews. Latest not happy with latest Waze which has been incorrect too often.

Get back to me once you see how accurate your wife's is. Thanks, again..

I've used WAZE every day for years and find it easily the best nav option around.

Default WAZE on Bluetooth

A friend with a new Toyota says she can play Google Maps on her phone and Bluetooth will let it show up on her nav screen. Anyone tried that with Mazda?

Google Maps should work with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.

If you are connecting with BlueTooth, you should be able to get the audio but not have it show up on the screen.
