Question Muffled phone and Sat Nav Help please!

I've had my CX-5 since February and have racked up 14,000 miles on it, the past couple of weeks I've been having a problem with the sound on the Sat Nav and phone being muffled,

Its so muffled i cant hear the person on the other end of the phone, dont get me wrong its loud just completely muffled,

The radio works perfectly,

I've reset back to Factory settings on both the cars settings and the TomToms and also taken the fuse out and put it back in for a complete reset,

what am i missing?

stupid question but did you happen to accidentally turn the volume down on the steering controls. Next time you are on a call hit the plus sign to see that it is turned up. Some thing when a voice command on your GPS.
