Default Mazda Connect - exactly what is it?

What exactly does Mazda Connect mean?offer? I was told that when you use the My Mazda app (which I have) it gives you all the info about your car - locked, unlocked, gas in tank, you can start the car remotely, etc. That's what I was told when I called the dealership a few hours ago. Is there anything else that it provides?

Mazda Connect is also related to this website where you can get map updates and other related information regarding the Mazda Infotainment system: https://infotainment.mazdahandsfree....language=en-US

A bit disappointed that Mazda Connect does not have an option for a 2021 CX-30.

While I don't use the My Mazda app, I do use Mazda Connect. I find it VERY hard to believe that the app will do all of this for you, "it gives you all the info about your car - locked, unlocked, gas in tank, you can start the car remotely, etc". How would the car broadcast all of this info?

The app certainly won't start the car for you if you don't have a remote starter installed.

It does give you vehicle status - fuel left in tank, doors locked or unlocked, odometer, hood closed or open, hazard lights on or off, "oil amount." service due, roadside assistance quick call. It doesn't "announce" anything - it's an app that gives you the info displayed on your phone. Now, there is upon opening the app and selecting "remote" a choice of STOP or START shows up. I am 25 miles away, so I can't check that out - maybe it's for something other than remote start - or for vehicles that do have a remote start, or something else entirely - I dunno.

Our CX5 had to be taken apart at a body shop due to an accident. Mazda connect told us in addition to the gas tank level that MRCC, parking, front camera, BSM, all malfunctioning, because they took it all apart

This must be on newer CX-5s? There's a switch on the hood that tells the car/app that the hood is open? Not on my 2016.5. How does the car broadcast this info? Does it connect to your phone when the phone is in range? Does it have built in cellular? Bluetooth?

I guess it must be newer models only. I am not aware of any switch. It's simply an app you download and open on your phone. When you want to check something, simply open the app. If your car suddenly gets unlocked, you will get a notice on your phone.
