A new version of the maps has been available since June. It took 2 and a half hours to download and install after several attempts to do so. Kept getting internal error messages. I found success by not backing up the older map data. I use a fiber optic internet so the Mazda server cannot handle the load. Originally I received a smart card in the mail. Those were the good old days.

 

Thanks for the heads up. The latest update I did was last December and it did not take long. I will possibly wait a bit more then before doing this update.

 

I updated my maps this morning. Surprisingly easy. Took about 15 minutes.

 

Wow. Must have had a poor server.

 

In my case it took about 40 mins to download the map. The size of the map is about 5.7GB. My download max speed is 230 Mbps, so must have been a busy server today as well.

 

I also ran into the problem with the back-up. I copied the SD Card to a directory on the hard drive and skipped the back-up from the Mazda system.

That's what I did. I didnt do the Mazda back up. It went smooth after that.

 

Tried to enter an address using voice command (not in favorites) and was "told" I needed a card with supplemental voice vocabulary. ?????
Is such card available?
