Hello everyone
I manually pushed my friend’s CX5 electric folding side mirror and it stopped working after that. Did it happen to anyone of you? Did it break it or she should reset the mirrors somehow? Thanks to anyone who can help correct my mistake!

 

Follow the procedure in the owner's manual for resetting the mirrors. Doubtful you broke anything and resetting should fix everything.

Did you follow the resetting instructions in the Owner’s Manual?

 

I have looked in the owners manual but there doesn’t seem to be anything about resetting them. It’s a 2016 model, they don’t have automatic fold but they are power folding. My husband has managed to unfold it manually but now it won’t fold using the power, it just makes a buzzing, electrical noise.. the mirror itself still adjusts fine.

 

I can’t find a 2016 Manual, but here are the instructions for a 2020 CX-5. I assume yours is already “cancelled”.

The motors inside the power folding mirrors go bad on these cars almost all the time. Depending on your mileage you may be eligible to get them replaced under warranty. Otherwise I'd turn off the power mirrors option.
