Default LED rings shot on my 2016 CX-5 Grand Touring

My 2016 CX-5 has been a great car for 2 1/2 years with no issues until I noticed that one side the LED ring was out. The car was not due for service so I did not sweat it. Took it in to the dealer for some service and the other ring was burned out as well. Good news is the car is still under warranty so it will cost nothing. Bad news is if it happened a few months later I'd be on the hook for about $2500.
Not good. Anybody else have this issue? We buy Mazda's for their reliability (and performance) and this really surprised me in a bad way.

I've replaced a few headlamps for this reason over the last few years.

I thought the benefit from LED technology is they last a very long time. If I had to pay this repair out of pocket the car might be for sale. The cost to replace is almost 10% of the total value of the car. That's nuts.

Out of warranty I would have looked for an aftermarket solution .

Wow, good to know and check out before warranty runs out. LED is expensive indeed.

To replace the entire OEM headlight set up? Can't imagine that would exist and if so would would still be costly. Plus the serve charges to install. It took them almost 2 hours to replace mine. Funny there was another 2016 there having the same repair done so this could be something that reoccurs regularly.
