Default Last Word on CX-5 Tire Pressure Sensor Readout TPMS?

Forgive me if I missed the past thread in my search. But, I've seen screenshots of MyMazda Connected Services app that show tire pressure. I did some Googling and apparently, the new CX-5's (2021) with the 10.5" screen are actually what is considered Gen 6.5 whereas the newer model CX-50 is the Gen 7 Infotainment system and will display individual tire pressures I assume on both the car's screen and the app?

I also understand that there is an ABS-based pressure system that has to do with tire rotation and not a pressure sensor in the wheel and the more widely known TPMS that has a pressure sensor in the wheel with the battery.

So my question is, on the CX-5s, starting in 2018 (or 2017.5 whenever the new generation came out) up to 2021, is it the pressure sensor system with an actual pressure sensor in the wheel? And if so, then is the fact you can't get actual tire pressure readings anywhere for the CX-5 just a software limitation?

I have read about gen 6.5 on forums, but have not further researched about gen 6.5 and gen 7. Makes sense that the new architecture would debut a new infotainment system. Haven not seen those details that the new 2023 cx5/cx50 will display individual tire pressures...

My understanding is that gen 2 (kf series) mazda cx5 started in 2017 and has the individual tpms sensors in the wheel. I have read that the gen 1 2013-2016.5 (ke series) used abs based tpms. We had a 2014 cx5 and i can confirm tpms was different than than our other car, which since 2006 had individual sensors and individual tire readouts on the dash. The 2014 actually had a tpms reset button, which makes sense when you think about it...you are telling the ecu "ok, i have equalized all the tire pressures, start measuring again from this time forward"

Starting in 2017...the fact that you cannot read individual tire pressures on the dash would seem to be more than just a software issue. I believe there is also a need for hardware in the car to relay and display the individual tire pressures. We can probably assume the computer has already received the individual tire pressures so you can see it on the mazda connect for those 2017-2020 cx5 with the gen 6 infotainment. I know on my 21 cx5 with the gen 6.5, i cannot receive individual tire pressures on mazda connect (that i know of...the car belongs to my wife, and mazda connect only allows one user per car)

For example, my 2019 wrx has individual tpms sensors, but the tpms hardware in the car is pretty rudimentary...you have input the sensor addresses into the ecu, and you have to manually change those addresses every time you rotate the tires to a new position, or put on a new set of tires and sensors. You need a shop or have to own a tool and keep a spreadsheet to do this.

Previously, i had 2006 acura that would just need a few miles of driving to receive the new tpms sensor info and write the info into the tpms hardware so it could display individual tire pressures...you just rotated the tires or changed to different set of wheels and tires with no issues.
