Default Instrument Panel Visibility

Anyone else noticing difficulty with instrument visibility . I find that the instrument cluster seems to suffer from glare in the daytime . I don't seem to be able to shade it. Because for some reason , Mazda does not see fit to tint the top of the windshield on the CX-5 like they do on the CX-9, I jerry-rigged some after market film tint and even this dos not seem to help . Apparently , the instruments are not lit during the daytime like they are on my 4-Runner . This may be compounding the problem .

are your headlights set to "on", "off" or "auto" (if your's has it). When the headlights are on it dims the dash lights. If you turn the dash brightness control to the right it will eventually brighten the dash lights. Then you just have to remember to turn it down when driving at night.

I run into this on very cloudy days when it gets dark enough that the auto lights turn on.
