Infotainment won't keep up...
I bought a CX-5 a few months ago, 2017 Sport model. It's been running great aside from this one thing that started about 3 or 4 weeks ago.
I have about 600+ songs on my phone and the LED screen no longer tracks them (since the last time I added to the list). What happens is that whatever is playing when the car is started is displayed on the screen, but when the song changes the information does not. It only changes with the song when I manually hit the SKIP button to change the song. When I took the car in to my Mazda dealer for its 10000km service, I mentioned it to them and they said it was just a software update that was needed and did that for me. This, however, has not fixed the problem.
So ... is it an issue with the system itself? Or is it because I have so much music on my phone that the car wasn't designed to keep up with it? (The latter I have assumed to be unlikely)

I have a Samsung 5S. To my knowledge, it is up to date. I usually receive a notice when it is due for an update, but haven't for a few months. I don't have any other mp3 devices, but I do have a USB which I can put music on to test.
Since the original post, I had the opportunity to test the situation out after having culled around 300 songs from my phone. No change. Previously, it was fine when I had around 500 ish. It's only in the past month this has been happening.

It doesn't necessarily solve your specific problem, but I bought a 32Gb flash drive (about $15) and loaded at least 2000 songs onto it, plugged it into the console USB port and just left it there. It does take a bit of time to read at start up, but once it's done with that, I have no problems whatsoever. Bonus: your phone battery isn't being pounded while you drive.
