Default Infotainment and hard drive issues 2019 CX5

My wife bought me a 1TB hard drive, excited I recorded all the music Icould, but when I installed the hard drive I can see that is running but it is not recognized by the radio system. I had a smaller one that pop up a few seconds after I turn on the vehicle. Anyone with a similar issue??

I don't think a hard drive is designed for automotive use. Stick with USB sticks.

The power from the USB port might be not enough for the 1TB hard drive. As suggested, I would go with USB memory sticks.

Hard disk drives (HDDs) and Solid State Drives (SSDs) are two kinds of computer storage devices. The former is traditional and cheap, but not too fast. The latter is faster than HDD but more expensive than it. So it is quite difficult to decide which one should be used for a computer. However, you should know that these two kinds of storage have different characteristics. You should also understand how to recover data from them in case of data loss or other problems. I would recommend using salvagedata.com. This is the best service to use.

What do you mean by, "I had a smaller one that pop up a few seconds after I turn on the vehicle."?

Are you saying that you had a smaller hard drive that worked in your car? If yes, was it formatted with FAT32?

What format method was used with the 1TB drive? Mazda states that FAT32 must be used for flash drives and I'm assuming that FAT32 must be used for everything.

I could be wrong and if I am I'm sure that someone* will be along shorty to point out how wrong I am.

I would assume he was using a USB flash drive. I would suggest as others have, going back to one. It sounds like you are trying to use a computer back up drive which I don't think will work due to power requirements. The flash drives can be had up to 1tb:

. I don't know if the system in the Mazda will recognize it though. They typically have a size limit they can work with.
