Question How Do I Get the Seat Belt to Lock For a Car Seat??

Hi all

I have a CX-5 2015 plate. I've got a baby coming in a couple of days and I'm trying to fit the car seat. But I'm struggling!

In order for the seat to be fitted tightly, I have to engage the locking mechanism on the seat belt. This is normally done by pulling the belt all the way out and then slowly feeding it back in - it should then lock in place.

The only problem is that this doesn't seem to work for me. The normal locking mechanism works eg a big jolt makes the belt lock, as it would if an adult was sitting in the seat during in a collision. But the normal method of locking the belt, as described above, doesn't.

I really hope I can solve this problem as getting another car seat s going to be tricky in this current corona climate and the baby is literally ready to drop!

Has anybody encountered this problem? Any help would be massively appreciated?

Thanks

Tom

You don't need to pre-lock it. In a emergency, the seat belt will lock automatically.
