Default HomeStink, er Homelink

Just bought a CX-5. Having a problem with a newish Liftmaster 85704-267 opener that won't connect with the Homelink in the car. I have a second, older, Liftmaster 8550W and the Homelink synced with that one just fine.

My 2021 Kia Homelink works on that opener just fine.

Called Liftmaster, they referred me to Homelink. Called Homelink, went through their automated setup (which is just the same as what the Owner's Manual says to do). It didn't work so I selected to talk to a support representative. After 5 minutes they hung up on me. Tried it a second time being forced through the 10 minutes of automated setup help, selected tech support, 5 minutes later it hung up again.

Well, I called my local garage door company to come over next week but it would be preferable not to have to pay them big bucks just to tell me they can't solve it.

What do you think? Thanks in advance!

Wild you mention this unit. I have the exact same 87504 and homelink on my 2022 CX-5. We got the new opener last fall and I had to go through the programming. I cleared out my old memory settings on the CX-5 homelink then did the learn on the 87504 and it failed at first. I unplugged my home router taking the opener offline and it programmed right away. I wouldn't think the 2022 homelink is more capable then whatever year you have but maybe try that. If it doesn't work must be a process issue. I wouldn't bother with support. Take your time and cleared everything first. You'll get it.

Thank you! What do you mean by taking the opener offline? Are you referring to deleting the WiFi settings? I erased the remotes from memory today and started by trying to add the CX-5 homestink first. It wouldn't work but the others did. However, I hadn't erased the WiFi config and the network was online.

If you have a remote/transponder for the garage (one with the buttons to open each door), you can just use that to program the car. You just need to click and hold the remote/transponder next to the car's rear view mirror and do the setup.

Wish I could help, but having had these issues, plus doors coming off tracks, chains/belts breaking, burned out motors I went back to manual open.
At least until such time I can no longer bend over, but by then I probably won't be able to get in and out of a vehicle anyway

Thank you for the replies, still a no-go. I've done everything in the Owners Manual, the Liftmaster manual, I've called Homelink and been through their automated system (twice), I've done it in the garage, just outside the garage, and and the end of the driveway. I called the garage door company that installed it but they didn't have any more ideas. I'm stumped.

I find it is easier with a little Velcro and attaching the remote that came with the garage door behind the review mirror works flawlessly.
