Mazda stepped up and did a trade assist. Took delivery of 2013 CX-5 10/5.
Black GT tech pack, sweet ride. I swore i would never own a black car again but it looks great when its clean, wish i would have got white though.
Mazda did the right thing this makes it my 10th mazda.

I have the exact same vibration as Roadawg...between 60-80 mph. I waited till I put my new snows and rims on ...and same vibration as Toyos. I will bet all cx 5's have this vibration to some degree...only not all drivers will realize it. I am in Ontario, Canada...car bought end of Aug and manufactured June...so not just NJ cars. I am also very in tune with my vehicle and change them every year or two. Rather than fight with the dealer and Mazda...I will just trade in the car next year because I do not believe the problem is fixable without a great deal of aggravation (if it is fixable at all). I do believe some cars will be worse than others and I guess I am saying I can live with mine. Mazda will just lose me as an ongoing customer.

Most CX-5's don't have this problem. Many of us own other premium machinery for direct comparison and know what a vehicle that rides correctly at speed feels like.

I disagree with these claims and I have never had any other car in my 16 years of driving exhibit this behavior. My case is somewhat bizarre because it does not happen all of the time, so it is difficult to reproduce at will. Sometimes it shakes for a minute, then stops, other times it goes 2 miles without shaking. The rub here is what level of shaking and vibrating deems to be acceptable, which is insulting to me at this point. No new car should shake this much, period. Minor road imperfections should not upset the balance of this car and cause it to shake.

Regardless of this particular tech's opinion today, I have 3 prior work orders stating my concern, and every single one says dealer confirmed customer complaint, and attempted repair was "xxx" each time with no solution yet.

I am writing the certified letter to Mazda now starting the lemon law litigation.

I was basically being told today, "we don't believe what you are claiming, the car is designed to shake a little, and we can't replicate what you are describing". This is completely unacceptable.
So what happened, (now that several months have passed)?

I can't speak of specific details regarding certain outcomes, but the only thing different that we did recently to the car was an alignment and as of now the car does not shake at all. And as a matter of fact the car is much sharper and steers better than it used to.

I think this is an overlooked factor with this issue.

roadawg - Thanks for the report. Generally alignment isn't considered when dealing with vibration issues.

Agreed, for the life of me I cannot figure out how an alignment resolved this issue but from personal experience this was the only change to the vehicle recently, and since the alignment, now two weeks later it rides like it was supposed to from the beginning. YMMV.
