Hello all,
I have a 21 CX5 with one halogen headlight and one regular headlight. I have been to several places including the Mazda dealer, and they tell me there is no replacement bulb available.
I bought my Mazda used in 2024 and someone must have changed the bulb (or at least one of them). I thought I was crazy, but my car mechanic told why they are different. So, I have been trying to
replace so they will match.
Has anyone had this issue and if so, how did you resolve it? Even my owner's manual doesn't give a part number for a replacement bulb.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Your headlight issue is difficult to answer without know what trim level you have. I also have a 21 CX-5. Grand touring. My package has directional headlights. Hard to believe that a Mazda dealership doesn't have answers for you.

 

You shouldn't have a halogen light as all CX-5's in 21 had LED headlights. The difference was if they had the signature lighting. Do they look the same when they are on, or different? The signature lights have bands which extend away from the headlight (like in the link). They also follow the road when you turn the steering wheel (very noticeable when driving).

I see in your profile that you are a USA resident so your question is easy to answer and get it correct the first time for what headlights your Mazda has!


I suggest to get your VIN from the top of the dash, your door jam or registration and call Mazda parts department and ask them directly what type of head lights you have.

Even when you contact higher quality aftermarket head light companies, they ask a series of questions to ID your head lights correctly .

Its easy to make one call to Mazda! Do it right the first time and then you won't have problems.

 

All models in the USA from 2017 onwards should have LED headlights...

 

Big difference in types of headlights. Grand touring has directional headlights. Lower trims do not..
As Calisto has stated. Get Vin and go to dealer. I am currently running an aftermarket headlight on my 2021 CX-5 Grand touring. Passenger side. Works well. (Thanks to a deer)
