2019 CX-5 Diesel

Hi Folks,

Is it possible to prevent the gear shifter from moving left into manual mode? It moves really easy. Maybe remove a pin or something so that the shifter will only travel north-south, but not east-west.

Not sure if it is possible to prevent this, but I agree, the shifter is easily moved to the left to manual mode without much effort.

 

What is exactly Bumping the gear shifter to MOVE it into manual mode.. my Cx5 is 2 years old it has never ever gone into manual mode on its own.. it only goes into that mode when I MOVE IT

 

Me.... I usually have one hand on the wheel and one on the gear shifter. When I take a turn hard, I pull the gear shifter left. Honestly, "manual mode" in an automatic is really useless in most cars. If you want to change gears manually, get something with a clutch.

 

that was helpful. just bought our 2010 town and country last night and was playing around with the manual option tonight and couldnt figure out how to get it back without the neutral shift. Thanks!
