Hello group, not sure this topic has come up or not so here goes to use dealer injectors cleaner or DIY with fuel injector cleaner in your tank? My wife insisting that by her tech, her 2020 CX5 Skyactive Technology will require special injector cleaner from the dealer. I am old school and have been using fuel injector cleaner to my fuel tank and run it at high RPM for 20-30min.

So, just wondering what is the members are doing to their car?

 

In most cases, the DIY solution works fine. Add a strong dose of a good brand
of injector cleaner at fill up. This should clear cases of minor stumble, etc..
Note that this does not clean the intake valves like in the past. Direct injection sprays
fuel into the combustion chamber, not into the intake stream before the valves.
Toyotas are another story.

you'll be driving and electric car before the fuel injectors become clogged....Its a great add on service for the dealers $$$.
