Front seat comfort
New owner of a CX 5 Grand Touring with premium package here. Love all aspects of the car, especially the heads up display. Everything needed is available without taking your eyes off the road, including turn by turn instructions from the nav system. The only issue I have is that the back of the bottom of the seat, where it meets the seat back, does not provide enough support. This was not an issue on my 30 mile test drive but on longer drives I am finding it problematic. Does anyone else notice this. Has anyone found a solution? I have tried additional lumbar support but that does not help. By the way, I am normal size, 5’10”, 180 lbs.
Yep- seats are not a strong point on the CX-5. Some here say they get better with some miles but I don't think mine have improved in the 9k miles I have driven so far. I have the exact model you have.
I just bought a 2020 Grand Touring Reserve. I just drove from MA to NC and back and my boyfriend and I both found the seats to be horrible. I had leased the 2017 Grand Touring and found the seats to be fine. Mazda definitely changed something. This is to the point where I want to turn in the car. Do I have any recourse with the dealer? I purchased this time around vs. leased.

I doubt you would have any recourse, but they might be willing to buy the car back. Expect to lose a few thousand $$, maybe more than a few. I bought a Skwoosh cushion from Amazon based on a recommendation I saw in another post. It helps but negates the value of the heated and cooled seats. I probably watched every CX 5 review on YouTube for 2017-2020 models and the only mention of seat discomfort revolved around the narrowness of the seats not the overall discomfort. Disappointing.
