Hi. Recently purchased a used 2017 cx 5 Grand Touring with Premium package. I've seen youtube videos where it is possible to remote start the car with the factory key fob by pressing lock 3x. I can not get this to work. I feel like I tried it when I got the car initially, and it worked then... but I cant remember. All I know is I cannot get it to work again. Did I imagine it working when I got the car?? I dont know. There is also a message that the fob battery is low. I've replaced it and it still shows low. Could there be a different problem I am not exploring? The car will not remote start from either factory fob.

 

There is a good chance your key fobs may be in power saving/transport mode. The video below shows you how to turn it off while the car is on.
