My 2005 Mazda 3 was fun to drive but had tremendous road noise. Glad to see how Mazda has improved over the years.

Lets remember that road noise is mostly a personally opinion and seldom does anyone actually use adecibel meter measuring instrument to assess noise or sound levels . IMHO it like when someone reports their engine power increase after install some part without the use of anything except a BUTT DYNO!

and tire type, tread design and tire pressure can also influenced a lot having to do with road noise!

Road condition will have a drastic impact on interior sound level produced even with the best of luxury manufactured vehicles.

So basically IMHO ( I do use and own a Decibel Meter) would not really compare to much how accurate any reports are from any source having to do with road noise information.

I might also point out MAZDA on many models uses EHPAS ( Electro Hydraulic Power Assist Steering) which by the way it is mounted is in itself creating increase levels of road noise. This is something I have yet to find mention on forums or service advisories. Not saying that somewhere on the big www its talked about just saying I have not seen it ?
