Default CX5 random radio station changes

The radio in my 2017 CX5 will occasionally change stations by itself. No buttons were touched. It has done this twice in the past week. Any ideas? External interference? Failing module or switch?

If the radio is a touch screen, that may be the problem. This is one of the early signs of touch screen delamination. It's a big problem with 2018 Jeeps.

Sounds like 'ghost touch'. Basically you can either unplug the wire for touchscreen to stop it from clicking randomly, or replace the screen. Over time the issue will usually progress and get worse.

Yup, that's likely the problem. I got the following from MS Copilot...

Replacing the touchscreen in a 2017 Mazda CX-5 can vary in cost depending on where you get it done and whether you do it yourself or have a professional handle it. The part itself, a display repair kit, can cost around $233.75[43dcd9a7-70db-4a1f-b0ae-981daa162054](https://mazdaparts.org/mazda-cx5-dis...e-981daa162054 "1"). If you choose to have it replaced at a dealership, the total cost including labor can be significantly higher, potentially around $534 or more[43dcd9a7-70db-4a1f-b0ae-981daa162054](https://www.reddit.com/r/CX5/comment...e-981daa162054 "2").

If you're comfortable with DIY projects, you might save on labor costs by following some online guides and videos[43dcd9a7-70db-4a1f-b0ae-981daa162054](https://www.reddit.com/r/CX5/comment...e-981daa162054 "2"). Just make sure to get the correct part number, which is K1Y3-61-1JZA[43dcd9a7-70db-4a1f-b0ae-981daa162054](https://www.reddit.com/r/CX5/comment...e-981daa162054 "2").

Called my local Mazda dealer. They quoted $615 p/l + tax.
They said that was a "kit". To replace the "whole screen" they claimed would cost ~$1,200. I watched a couple videos. Looks simple enough, a 1 to 2 hour job at most.

But this "kit" thing is a bit confusing - sounds like it is only a portion of the screen assembly.
