CX5 Diesel engine issues
I am not a Mozzie ( Ozzie) I am a true blue Kiwi, still supporting the All Blacks. I worked for Mazda in South Auckland from 2005 until my departure in 2013 to work for Mazda on the Sunshine Coast/ Queensland.
sorry mate.I just got back to nz. Loving it, but not loving the crap wages and house prices but hah. No wonder our lot end up over the ditch. I was in syd and perth. Loved perth, what a beauty of a place. Just too far away from any kind of civilization
UPDATE ON CAR - its only been 2 days and the Master Warning Light has come back. Bugger.

its going into the shop today for a vacuum pump change and associated hose.
im hoping they complete it today, this incessant dropping off of the car is a pain the the proverbial - todays weather looks sterling. Much rather be out cruising on the coast somewhere.
anyone with any tips or suggestions before i take it in - feel free. Ill grab the 'TDC' diagnostic code/s that caused my MWL to come on (as per my above images), off them... i dunno how fothcoming they will be with it.
will report back on outcome of todays session with the cx-5 whisperers hehe
cheers
I kept a record of my comings and goings with my (distant) Mazda dealers. It was an impressive list by the time I had been back and forth several times for everything. I also recorded what transpired, which in my case was not a good look for them. I suspect the stark nature of this list was instrumental in getting the powers that be to sit up and take notice. Those codes, which I got from another mechanic who had the correct diagnostic equipment, were useful when I contacted the service people at MazdaNZ for a second opinion. It may be your dealer already understands the problems so maybe a second opinion is not so critical, but if you are going after MazdaNZ, all information helps in building your case.
Thanks mate. Thanks for the tips
im happy with the service. All has been very smooth thus far, certainly no complaints
p0258 was the dtc code on the previous visit causing rhe MWL to come on. No DTC was recorded on the maint record this time round except that they replaced the pump and hose as part of recall.
thanks to you and all others for pushing these issues uphill. Im certain it wpuldnt be smooth sailing for me if if wernt for your efforts.
we'll see how i go. Hopefully the issue is resolved.

This is not what i want to see. Im also at 106k.
ive been driving to some out of the way places and dont want to get stuck somewhere because of this sh$t-box of an engine
the cx-5 whisperers did a fantastic job with the vacuum pump and hose im really happy with the cars performance right now.
im hoping some preventive actions were taken for the gasket, or atleast, im hoping they ran an inspection looking for this precise gasket problem.
argh, im worried now.

Ask them. I don't know precisely what the cause is but there are others on this forum who have far greater knowledge on such matters than I. They never managed to give me an answer as to the cause, though they did say that all the ones in other countries were due to the warmer climate!! It is too common a problem for them not to know the cause and one would hope they were using the recall to investigate.
