CX5 brake pedal
Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone experienced this problem with your car.
So this is probably backwards as most complain of mushy brakes. But when my wifes car sits overnight or for extended periods the brake pedal is rock hard (when depressing) to turn the car on. After its totally normal. My wife said the pedal is a lot harder to push down in the morning or evening after its been sitting. If you run to the store and come back out in 15-30mins its normal but left alone for several hours it will be really stiff again. I dont often drive it, but this morning I did and definitely noticed it being harder and had little play when turning the car on. Until of course the car was ON and then it's travel went down further.
Thanks!

To start off the year and the miles is one missing info as well at what miles was the last brake service done and what was that service.
Also based on the very little information do or did you get a check engine light at anytime> If yes then you need to scan the ECU in the permeant file section and retrieve what the DTC)s) were.
No 2 brake problems are exactly the same even if your Mazda was the same year as someone else. There are very few exception and those exception are if it is a know Mazda problem with a safety recall or a TSB relating you your exact model year and possible VIN.
Your problem reads like a 1967 Buick btw LOL That was a small crack in the rubber hoe that supplied the brake booster canister. lol
But your is that were the case would have generated one of several different DTC(s) and a check engine light.

Hello Callisto,
Thank you for your reply and sorry for the lack of info.
It is 2019 CX5 sport with 64k miles and this symptom just happened like 2-3 weeks ago. No check engine light and brake works like normal once the car is started. Pedal does not go to the ground when pressed and don't hear any sounds when brake pedal is pressed. The last brake service (pads and rotors) was done 6 months ago with no fluid change.
I visually inspected the hose to the booster and can't see any cracks...
