I'd say you were pretty "lucky" being only sideswiped.

Yeah, he changed lanes right into me. CX-5 held up pretty well considering. Almost lost control swaying back and forth after contact and losing both driver's side tires but managed to keep it in my lane and get off the road. Felt like I was in NASCAR - rubbin's racin'!!

I'm so glad there were no injuries. I might need a change of underwear after something like that!

I'd say that you're a winner! (your CX-5 not so much) Maintaining control under those circumstances couldn't have been easy. Well done!

Very true friend. The car can be fixed. I thought for a sec I was gonna go sideways and rollover or make a right turn into the trees.

The important thing is that everyone is ok. Just take a buffer to the car.

Thanks everyone for their kind thoughts. Initial appraisal by insurance was fixable to the tune of $9600. Any ideas on what kind of hit I'm gonna take on resale even if I get it completely fixed?

Whoa! That must've been scary. Good work keeping your head and staying on the road. On resale would just be upfront about it and sell privately so you can show them receipts, photos like this etc. Someone will appreciate your honesty. It's really just body damage - if it goes beyond that, like a bent frame or electrical issues, well, one step at a time. Right now would just be glad you survived being hit by a semi
