Default 91 B-2600 trailer wiring

I have a six pole flat harness for my trailer wires. I cut it off since I could not find an adapter to connect to a standard four pole connection. I connected the new four pole to the colors that the box said were standard, but the lights would not work. I was wondering if anyone knows the proper way to hook up trailer lights and what the extra two wires from the six pole were from. Thanks.

White should be ground (Iknow who uses white for ground)Green should be right turn signalBrown left turnyellow running lightsBlue/red auxillary(trailer brakes)Black for auxillary groundI hope this helps you out remember use the white for ground not the black.I had to wire my 2 trackers and a ford and this seems to be the generic wiring color codes. you need a light converter as you have two curcuits coming into one
2 on the truck one on the trailer
the truck has a curcuit for signals and brakes without the converter one curcuit will backfeed into the other with the trailer connected

as for the two extra wire's do you have an electric brake controller?

I just got a hitch for my truck, but I haven't hooked it up yet. I haven't pulled the wiring harness out to take a look at it, but I've seen a few things on the mfr's website that mentioned a converter, and I saw mention of it here. I have a 1990 B-2600i. What's the setup on these trucks? Is it a three-wire system? And how do you convert that to a 4-wire system? I know I'm missing something. A 3-wire converter gives you 2 wires to the trailer. What about the other two? Sorry, guys, trailers and trailer wiring are not my specialty.

Thanks.
