Will have to replace rear inner light unit ( reverseing light) on CX5 2022. research shows this may not be an easy job? Have already obtained a repacement.

Sorry is there a question or just a conclusion from what your abilities are? I looked at the labor time and it is 1.25 hour . No specialized tools needed.

 

From My research it appears that the rear trim containg the logo has to be removed in order to remove unit. Involve specail tape to stick back on.

 

It only doubled sided tape. You can get quality 3m doubled sided tape often used in body shops as well dealerships.

 

As they are LED, it is unusual to have to replace them during the life of the car. I assume your CX5 is out of the warranty period?

 

it not unusual and for a 2022 it may be more or less the repour the customer has with a Mazda dealership.
The local NAPA store that our shop as well other stocks the covers now mostly for whole say accounts and their customers.

 

Maybe not out of the ordinary, but they should last longer than that...
