Question Climate control mode buttons

The buttons that change which vents the air comes through. Can anyone explain why there are two? The owners manual doesn't. Is there any difference between the two?

With no year or model info...Is this the system you have? https://owners-manual.mazda.com/gen/.../06010400.html

2016.5 GT,

Actually not exactly the same one. My button on the left says "mode" with a triangle pointing left. My right button has a seated figure with no words and a triangle pointing right.
Thanks for your post. Ha, figured it out. Rotates to vent settings in different directions. Big deal.

Ah. This one. https://www.mazdausa.com/static/manu.../06010400.html
Which when depressed, takes you through these...https://www.mazdausa.com/static/manu.../06010202.html

My 2014-T has a multi-position dial for this function. Fancy it's not. Functional it is.

Yes, That's the one. No need to duplicate the functions to my mind and why label them differently? The other example at least makes sense.

Re: "My right button has a seated figure with no words and a triangle pointing right".

Does pressing the right arrow and then the left arrow bring you back to the vent selection you were at before you pressed the right arrow? IE: "Clockwise/counterclockwise" function? I still don't get the seat on the RH button. I looked in the explanation of seats and it's not for any adjustment or heater selection.

I know, I could find nothing when I looked at the manual. It is as you say (and as the other dash makes clearer, One is clockwise, the other cclockwise). A meaningless, from a practical point of view, duplication.

You have the dual climate control system. The mode button on the right with the triangle is for the passenger side adjustment, when the system is set for independent adjustment, of the air selection source.

Nice, that's what I'd hoped at one point but it didn't seem to do anything differently. I'll check it out. Thanks!

NOPE, tried it . Both do the same, control both sides (that is, there is only "one side": all of the vents).

Did you set the system to work in dual mode?
