Anyone buy a NEW CX-5 recently? Can you share some insight on getting the best deal? Do you know the invoice price on these cars? Preferable a Grand Touring model. Thanks

 

Saw a couple of Signature model CX-5's on a nearby dealer's lot, recently, and they were just north of US$40K. Most in my area seem to be in the $36-38K range.

At a nearby dealer lot, there are a couple of Grand Touring Reserve models for sub-$35K.

About the best dealer lot prices I've seen for the Grand Touring model CX-5's recently have been about $30K, though most seem to be ~$32-35K or so. (Depending on how equipped, of course.)

Not that that'll necessarily give you any indication of what New York City pricing might be.

Don't know what their "invoice" prices are, on those particular vehicles.

NYC dealers are shady as can be and I was hoping to get some market insight before engaging with them. Usually knowing the invoice price is helpful in negotiations.

 

Lucky for you, the GT is one of the better models to negotiate on as they don't have the turbo motor. When we leased in 2019, the GT's had a money factor of almost zero % making them a great car to lease. The GT-R had a much less attractive rate.

 

New member here. Apologies in advance if I have posted this incorrectly. I've just discovered the CX5 and the Mazda line of cars. I've always owned Hondas, but I love the excellent handling quality of Mazda and the apparent dealer surplus of on the lot CX5s. In the Pacific Northwest there are some dealers that have >200 new CX5s on the lot. I'm interested in the 2023 Premium plus - but I'm open to suggestions as to other trims. I'm a bargain shopper and cannot come to paying at or over MSRP. I'm finding dealers here offering MSRP minus "MOE" (can't figure out what that stands for) of about 3%. When you get into the numbers with salespeople this "discount" seems to evaporate.

I'm aware that the CX5 is a bit long in the tooth, has marginal fuel economy, and may be discontinued or remodeled in the near future. Seems to me the dealers/Mazda would be motivated to move this model sooner rather than later. I would appreciate any thoughts on current prices, new owner's comments on out the door costs (not including state and local taxes), buying strategies, and predictions about future availability of this model and pricing trends. I grabbed a new CX-5 2022 CE on 2/22 - a year ago- but my guess is the market is different now - Since the CE was exactly what I wanted and it had literally just been unloaded off the delivery truck and was not even PDI,d yet with 3 miles - I wanted that untouched specimen - so I paid the guy msrp - Since I sold Mazdas for years - I tend to pay more and am ok with it - the grind aint worth it to me

 

Right now, I don't think many dealers are selling below MSRP. I just bought a new 2023 CX-5, I was able to get $500 off the MSRP, but only because I negotiated in a trailer hitch (which I am sure is loaded with profit for them). But, I hate car shopping and as rare as I buy cars, even if I take a small bath, it's not worth the grey hairs to worry about it.

 

In January, I bought a 2023 CX-5 Turbo for almost $1600 below MSRP and received another $500 off for the Mazda Loyalty Program because I own a 2000 Miata.

 

I bought my 2022 CX5 PP in the height of overcharging and my Mazda dealer easily offered 1K off sticker..

 

You got pretty lucky. That was not common in 22.
