Hey, I’m the current owner of a 2000 protege es and am looking at upgrading to a 15 cx-5. It’s a grand touring awd with 96k. It is a one owner with new brakes and tires. I drove it and it seemed to drive well. Are there any trouble spots I should look for or any suggestions before purchase? It’s navy blue with tan leather and is the color combo I’ve been looking for. The miles seem high to me but are reportedly highway and with new tires and brakes I can’t think of any immediate service it may need. Thanks for the input!
Looks good from here. I'll looks for any paint job repair (any area that looks to have been repainted). Rust or any leak in the bay area, any check engine on. And if you purchase the car, if I were I would change brake fluid (or has owner if the brake fluid was replaced when the brake job was done. Coolant drain and fill, transmission service (drain and fill or if you are handy drain transmission fluid, remove pan and replace the transmission oil filter.) Overall has said before this engine are pretty good.... mileage is just a number if maintenance has been done to the book.
