Bose amp Question
So for other reading....* BOSE does have technical assistance for vehicle audio systems.
The gentleman from Bose with the british accent told me they did not.
From your replies, you seem to have vast knowledge of car audio etc. My ignorance of this subject brought me here with a question that could be answered with a yes or no. It appears that your answer is no or you don't know. I have learned a couple of things today, so my ignorance is not as vast as it was this morning. If you happen to run across someone with the answer to my original question, please let me know, as it will save me some time, money, and a headache.
Cheers,
BMR

The dealership was not as you say "covering their ****" they simply gave a BS answer that in their own mind sounded good/ LOLI can tell you on another subject that the parts department is the place to be asking and at least someone there that has worked in Mazda Parts for 2 or more years.

My answer was not or IDK because unless I personally have tested an application as the one you are considering then I have no definitive answer. There are not too many things I am aware of I personally or my contacts can't make work one way or another having to do with auto stereo components and systems.
And as for my cutting and pasting the same answer on another forum it was meant as a joke. However, I do read and participate on a few dozen different forums. This forum just happens to be the one I call home so to say! And it is the only one I use my username on.

Now back to work my lunch is finished!
You would need to pull the Bose amp out of the vehicle to actually determine what it is.
If it were me, I'd just knock some money off the selling price and be done with it.
It'll save you time you'll never get back (though you seem to have already spent a fair amount of that) and probably money in the long run.

Chance's are that if the amp blew and the volume was 50% or greater it may have damaged some speakers as well.
It seems like an easy problem to have if you want it to be operational for the sale. Just get the part # and get the identical part. I personally would go with the other suggestion given above. Find out the cost of a refurbed BOSE amp once you have the part # and decrease your selling price accordingly.
Lobstah and Chickdr19, thanks for your input. I am selling the car to a friend and his only request is to get the radio working. So, I am waiting on a guy in Costa Rica (where the car is located) to take the amp out and get the proper part number to replace it (this may or may not happen). I can get one in the States way cheaper than in Costa Rica and send it down with another friend when they go down in December.
There are two part numbers for amps for my particular vehicle and wanted to know if they are interchangeable. If they are, great, if not, I will wait or figure out something else.
Cheers,

Both those part numbers can have the issue.
Meaning if you replace it with either number that is currently working, it may or may not be a permanent fix, unless it is a unit that has been "remanufactured/modified".
The website for that is included in service bulletin.
