Beep beep beep. Beep beep beep. Beep beep beep.
At random intervals ( about every minute or two) something in the dash emits triple beeps, about six times.
The rear hatch is fully closed and locked. What else might trigger this?

Maybe......Wile E. Coyote calling the Road Runner?
I couldn't help myself! And I probably can't help with your issue, as I have never owned a CX-5. But hang in there, someone will have some ideas and post them here!

Welcome to the forum
It helps on any vehicle forum when asking a solution to a problem to do as if you were at the service shop, that is to say filling out the vehicle information.
Year
miles
last service date and what was it
Directly where don you think the sound is coming from . Right or left side
Does it happen only if the engine is on or all the time.

We need much more info, such as: engine running or off, underway or parked, in gear or out, E-brake on or off, would help to narrow it down.
First, I posted without full diagnostics explanation hoping it was a common enough occurance that someone would say "oh, that's the fragamintiziks and you just have to do x and y and it goes away".
It turns out the cause was a poorly designed 12 volt multi-port receptacle adapter that messes with a number of things. The latest thing it messed with was when I had a device plugged in, like a dash cam, with the engine running, then turn off the engine and open the door, the "ignition is on" warning light in the dash turns on. There was no way to turn it off with ignition button presses, etc
Disconnecting the device from the 12 volt port adapter was the only fix.
I since installed a different brand plug in adapter and it now works as it should. Yes, quirky.

I think it is more of quality of components and even lack of quality control for the aftermarket part you choose to use then what I would deem as a flawed engineering design. I am not even sure any actual engineer design any of those in the first place. It is a 'crap shoot" so often when choosing those parts anymore and very little documented specification other then their voltage handling capacity?

I'm tending to agree. My advice to future gadgeteer (dashcam, TPMS, battery monitor, outlet adapter, etc.): Don't look for the lowest priced gizmo. Look for highest quality. You'll also usually get better instructions and customer support. Leave a few weeks or months between installation of a second gizmo - enough time to assure the first one isn't screwing something up to be able to more easily diagnose issue.
Your issues is actually VERY isolated and the suggestion while can understand in your experience being good for you is not really necessary. In this case if you look on this forum alone you are about the only one ever having that problem as you described. While many have had inferior produced products I would say you did well at finding the solution but not for other to be so worried or concerned about.
