Post Basically a new owner!

I will be doing the finale signing for my 2014 touring awd cx-5 (moonroof/bose package) with 41 miles. Currently im pending the "options" portion of the paperwork. I live in CT and do light driving ( example my previous car was a 2012 mazda3 I leased in nov 2011 and as of now logged 18k miles on it). My finance will be for 7 years and this is what there offering me...
1) Vehicle service contract for 84 months/100k miles for $1774.00
2) Gap for $690
3) Road hazard tire and wheel for $422.00
4) Maintenance for 84 months/75k miles for $1455.00

The dealership is also offering a "tire and brake" Bonus which only covers both when wore down under normal wear and tear. tire and pads only for free. As of now, I plan on keeping this car as long as I could. Thanks in advance!

Mazda's are very reliable vehicles. You do not need all these very expensive service agreements, and will likely spend much less just paying for services needed out of pocket.

My $.02...

I am with JonW here. These service contracts make you pay twice for the same thing: warranty, or for something you won't need: a repair out of your pocket. If you check the small print you will find that these add-ons only kick in if you have proof of meticulous maintenance. If you do meticulous maintenance you won't need repairs.

On top of JonW's 2 cents there you have my 2 cents...............or your $5000.

That's a great 2 cents, hence why I asked. Reason I asked is cause in another thread someone mentioned that since this a new version of the model things could fail. So to clarify which of the options should I drop? I appreciate any and all info!

You don't need ANY of them.

I second JonW: double drop!

And if the sales person gives you the "it's for the peace of mind". You say: "Thanks for saying that. My mind is at peace now!"

Skip all of those add-ons. Those are really for additional profit. Check with your finance institution, the GAP coverage may be available from them for a lot less. Mine was $5/month for gap coverage through my credit union.
