I tend to always look into the product who actually is bottling it and whom the distributor is. Then I look at what they show to be the ingredients on any advertisements they make available . But mostly I go to the SDS or MSDS. I can even pull what the proprietary ingredients are just not the amount or percentages.

If I don't see alcohol or desal fuel which many off brand fuel additives have plenty of both then at least I know it won't harm the fuel system. However Now discal and alcohol in fuel cleaner although will work if you use it once in a long while because it does have other negative effect. mainly diesel fuel doesn't burn well in the combustion chambers, and you can actually cause a carbon build up. The reason diesel fuel in additives works well short-term use and fast is its lubricating qualities specifically target the needle of the fuel injector and the other moving parts and sealing parts in the fuel injector and fuel pumps. This can result in almost immediate felt positive results, but it does not always last long on really dirty fuel systems.
Let me say some products bottled and advertised are more or less have the placebo effect using it in your fuel system If you read enough wonderful things about them and have a great advertisement company promoting them I am sure you will have your brain geared to feel the effect.
Some ingredients are so mild that if you personally drank them you would not necessarily need you to go to emergency get an Activated charcoal treatment to help remove the poisoning.

And then there are as an example only the cleverly worded disclaimers from retailers that make it sound like it is for service shops and trained certified automotive mechanics or technician to use yet they sell them redly on amazon and their own website ..... lol

FOR PROFESSIONAL USE.

Default Additives

Well - since the subjects are service - regarding BG MOA - It has its merits , used properly can be benifical - usually preceeded by the use of BG EPR - added to the engine oil prior to oil change - run at idle ( not driving -20 min ) and then drain - then use MOA on this oil change refill . Additionally a can of 44k in the gas tank for a fuel system treatment - particularly good for direct injection engines run short distances and stop and go.
44k about every 6 mos -ish the EPR/MOA about every 40-60 k - nothing extreme - but significant benifits have been yielded and there are warrantys included if used properly by an authorized distributor .
-Also beware of anyone in any forum/ blog whatever who claims to know everything and posts a lot and starts conflicts not healthy dislogues - do your own research - come to you own convludions based on your own experiences and of those you know and trust - happy motoring ! always be open to learning new things

Is this a proven fact, or just speculation?

The engine oil or motor oil currently used from name brand bottlers like Pennzoil, etc. the use of oil additives is not needed *** if the basic oil service is done as per the manufacture or sooner. These additives much like even Seafoam need to be used for much longer if not the complete cycle between oil and filter services to possibly support the engine oil of choice. However thus far there is no empirical data to show that if used on an gasoline engine less then 100k miles and following the auto manufactures recommend services and types of oil in the region of vehcle use to be of any benefit what so ever!

But please if you have some empirical data from any independent legitimate motor oil test company, please provide their data.

This goes without say for gasoline additives as well if ***.

As I also posted any person that can read can look at the SDS or MSDS.and then take each part of it and fact find the information about most ingredients of a product a product.. Make sure you also look into the percentage by volume of these ingredients that are not proprietary and or send a sample to an Chemical analysis company to get that information then learn about the product before simply believing the advertisements from them.
